Your Impact

Donors and Sponsors make a huge impact in our local community through their support of the Crown of the Continent Guitar Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to celebrating all genres of the guitar and preserving the things that are so special about Northwestern Montana.

Your contributions provide educational workshop scholarships for deserving guitar students and teachers from the Flathead Valley and beyond, provide operational support for the festival and enable us to bring this world-class workshop and festival with its significant economic benefit to Bigfork and the Flathead Valley each year. We couldn’t do what we do without you!

The yearly festival and workshop has a documented economic benefit to the Flathead Valley and Northwest Montana of more than three million dollars, and that benefit is growing every year. We have put Bigfork, Kalispell and surrounding communities squarely on the artistic map by hosting an internationally recognized cultural event. We have brought our community even closer together by motivating hundreds of volunteers and housing hosts to be an integral part of the Crown of the Continent Festival and Workshop experience.

In addition, we have worked to support our charitable partners including: The Glacier Symphony and Chorale, Bigfork A.C.E.S., Montana Public Radio and Broadcasting, North Valley Music School and Salish Kootenai College Foundation.

Make a difference!

The generous contributions of our donors and sponsors have positive effects on local and global scales. Your donations make it possible each year for us to bring the world’s leading guitarists to highly appreciative audiences at an affordable cost, widening access to music lovers in Northwestern Montana and the Flathead Valley area.

A core part of our charitable mission is to support the next generation of guitar artists by providing scholarships for students, teachers and performers to participate in our programs. During the past seven years we have awarded 144 scholarships and 13 fellowships worth over a half million dollars. The majority of the recipients have come from Northwest Montana, but we have awarded scholarships and fellowships to individuals from throughout the United States as well as Brazil, Canada, France, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, Singapore, South Africa, Norway and Mexico.
