Bigfork sits at the south end of the Flathead Valley, 45 minutes south of Glacier National Park, built on the hillsides surrounding Bigfork Bay on the north end of Flathead Lake. From visits to nearby Glacier National Park and the National Bison Range, to horseback riding one of the Swan and Mission’s many trails, to fly fishing for trout in the Flathead River, to browsing the shops and galleries, the village of Bigfork offers myriad activities outside of the workshops.
The Swan River runs along the edge of the village and tumbles out into the bay. River or lake fishing is easily accessible with local guides, biking or hiking opportunities can all be arranged during your stay.
Bigfork offers access to the Swan Valley, home of the Bob Marshall and Mission Mountain Wilderness Complexes with their numerous trails to lakes, mountain peaks, and waterfalls. This part of Northwest Montana is home to millions of acres of state, federal, and park land available for outdoor recreation.
